Hey guys, I finally broke down and paid the big bucks to get a K&N air filter for the GTS. This is the only info I have (thanks to Thomas Keyworth) on how to convert it into two filters that actually fit. Would anyone have anything more detail they could add to this so that I don't screw up (an inherent flaw I have with expensive items and sexy women) one I start cutting.
I can't see how to disassemble the stock filters. It looks like they are glued together. Do I need to take the rubber off of the sides of the K&N? <<snip>> You need the R1 K&N filter, #YA-1098. Disassemble the stock paper filters, cut the K&N to length, glue back into place w/ silicone sealant (or "Goop"), and you're all set. The width is perfect, and there's enough to make both filters w/ about three inches of material to spare. Thanks GWN Daren
