I would try the multiple oil/filter changes first before swapping out the
clutch. It has a good chance of working, and might save you a bunch of
money.

Ok. I see it was my fault.
I'm sad and pleased to hear this.
Sad because it was something that could be avoided.
Pleased as it just happened since took out the Cat and increased when change
air filters by K&Ns. ;-)

Anyway how long would the Gts clutch last more or less.
I know it depends on how the bike is ridded.
Anybody already changed it.
My 94 bike has about 52.000 km. that I imagine would be about 29.000 miles?

Best regards.
Pablo.

Pablo, I hate to say this, but you made a very big mistake in putting that
additive in your oil. The clutch on most motorcycles is a WET clutch, which
means that it has oil circulating through the clutch to cool and lubricate
it. The teflon is causing your clutch to slip. Additionally, those oil
additives based on teflon DO NOT WORK. Many times they cause harm, and
almost without exception do not do any good.

What you should do is change your oil and filter, and use an reasonably low
cost petrolium oil. Run the bike gently for about 100-200 miles, then drain
and refill the oil (and optionally the filter). Run another 200 miles, and
hopefully buy that time the clutch slippage will go away. At this point
change the oil and filter back to a good brand. I would recommend Amsoil
Synthetic motorcycle oil, Motul, Mobil 1 Syn. Some people have had starter
problems with Mobil 1.

Hey guys,

After having took out catalyzer and changed to K&N filters, I'm beginning
to suspect that probably the clutch doesn't work well.

When max. gas is applied, the bike pushes until 8.000-8.500 rpm, then rpm
go really fast until 10.000-10.500, but I don't feel the engine pushing.
Even I feel that when max. gas is applied at 6.500, rpm go up, the bike
push, rpm go down about 500, and from that the bike really pushes.

I just have the GTS ten months and don't know if this is normal. Do your
bikes clearly push from 8.500 to 10.500? I added some additive based on
Teflon to reduce engine's friction and it may make the clutch slip.
Is there any way to know clutch condition?
Whatever advise would be appreciated.

Regards.

Pablo.
