The pithy ruminations from Helmuth Deubel on
<Fuel - range> were:
=> After about 140 miles the fuel gauge shows less than 1/4 content and the
=> fuel lamp begins to glow.

That's a bit on the low side for the warning light to come on. With me, it's
usually at about 160mi.

=> I dont dare to drive more than 20 miles after the fuel signal.

You can probably go a bit further.

=> My average consumption is about 9.3 liter/100 miles (rem:gas)at an average
=> speed of 99 mph.
   ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^
Oh, that'll do it. Sustained blasts on the Autostrada (125mph for about 30~45
minutes) really kill the mileage. If you can keep it down to about 80MPH, you'll
get much better mileage. :)

=> What is the experience about the range til the tank is empty?

Last weekend, I ended up doing about 35mi with the reserve light on until I
found gas. A lot of that distance was riding slowly, in 5th gear. :) When I got
to the station, it took 19.6L, and the needle was below the lowest line, but
not completely onto the letter "E". The tank is rated at 20L + 3.5L reserve.

In 6 years of riding the GTS, I think I've only put 200 on a tank of gas one or
two times. Anything over about 185 and I'm getting nervous.

I've never run out of gas, and I've ridden with the needle more than a
"needle's width" below the lowest line in the gauge.

I hope that gives you some info.
