After burning 15 to 15.5 liter the light comes on. Thirsty? Almost full throttle, two adults on the bike, two kids in the sidecar, complete campinggear, against the rain and storm (9-10 BF); with 1 liter 6.4 km (3.975 mile). That gas needle can almost move as fast as the speedometer needle ;-)
With the same people and load, constant speed (130 km/h 80.7 miles/h) but without the storm; with 1 liter 12-13 km (7.453-8.074 miles). So I took 30 extra liters gas with me on the Bamberg European Saddlesore in 2001, just to be sure ;-) John Dreuning "Sidecarmaniac" The Netherlands http://home.planet.nl/~dreuning Also webmaster of the Dutch sidecarclub "Het Derde Wiel" (Sorry only in the Dutch language); http://hdw.vinden.nl Helmuth Deubel wrote: > After about 140 miles the fuel gauge shows less than 1/4 content and the > fuel lamp begins to glow. > I dont dare to drive more than 20 miles after the fuel signal. > My average consumption is about 9.3 liter/100 miles (rem:gas)at an average > speed of 99 mph. > What is the experience about the range til the tank is empty? > > Reguards > Helmuth
