Won't hurt a thing. The oil light is an indicator of oil level, not
pressure. When it comes on, it simply means that you may be a bit low on
oil, but you still have pressure. At high speeds, more oil tends to be
'left' in the upper parts of the engine, and so it gives an indication
of low oil in the pan. Just add a pint or so and you shouldn't see the
light anymore. You do want to avoid overfilling, so don't go nuts with
the oil. Also, many, many of us experience a very small amount of oil
usage/burnage at sustained highspeeds. The good part of that is that the
engine is assured of good lubrication and long life. The downside is,
having to stop periodically and adding oil, a bit of a hassle when on
long trips. Of course, you can carry some with you....but hey, the first
time the spare bottle leaks in your bags....ggrrrrr.

Anyway, if the problem persists after adding some oil, you may have
other issues going on. But my .02 cents is that your just a tad low on
oil.

Cheers and a good Memorial Day to you!
