All I have ever donewas change oil and filter every 2000, service the chain on a regular basis, new tires, check the valves about 15,000 and just overall keep an eye on things. Never had a bike that I followed the manual on. I have serviced the steering head and front end bearing regularly but you get that on any bike. Bob
