Whhaaaa..???? And you didn't call me or Chase? For coffee at least? For
shame.

Hehehe. I'm sure you had your hands full of enough issues, letting alone
trying to
decide which shop to have coffee at. Coulda loaned you some tools
though....

Uhmm...I do. Chase too.And yes, it can get very hot. I try to plan my
rides in the early morning,(infrequent) or the late afternoon/evening
(frequent). The temp drops fairly
rapidly, being in the desert with desert type weather.

Now see, I've been here 5 years. And in all that time, my 93 has never
locked up or exibited the problems that you were having. I suspect that
your tank 'mod' may be the culprit. I've ridden all the canyons to the
tops, (high altitude), and it's been fine. I hope that you can find a
solution to 'block' the heat, it sounds like it might be the problem.

Hehe. Yeah, it takes a while to get used to the 'thin' air here. I get
to enjoy the
reverse when I'm at sea level. I can actually walk a brisk pace and not
'huff and puff'
for most of it. :^)

Ok then. Do I win for presenting "vapor-lock" as the issue? I didn't
guess what caused it,
mechanically speaking, but I did get the 'physics' part! Partial credit
at least??

Good luck on your fix, John. I believe that there are others who have
done the 'expanded'
tank 'mod', so they would probably be the most at risk, but it is
something for all of us to
keep in mind.

Let us know what you end up doing,
