I had a look at mine a couple weeks back and it seemed fine. At least the
gas flowed out quickly when I pulled it outta the tank. I assume it will
flow in fine at well. Didn't notice the mesh pulled in toward the plastic
frame as you described. Of course I haven't had any gas related troubles so
I didn't examine it all that closely.

I finished getting my bike together this afternoon. Started right up. I let
it warm up once, cool back down, warmed it up again and took it for a blast.
A few trips up to redline and it didn't blow up ;-). Seem to have all my
power back. Of course the juries still out on oil consuption. Only about 10
miles on the fresh top end so far.

On another note. I got an aerostich catalog in the mail a couple days ago.
Sheesh, they got all kinds of goodies all of a sudden. Including the Hawk
Oiler. Anyway, it's a cool catalog with all kinds of pictures and quotes.
Many of the descriptions are quite humerous as well. It has quite a few
things I've never seen before. I'm eyeing some cool down stuff for the big
trip this summer. Water bag you can pressurize with a hand pump to hose
yourself down once in a while.
Anyway, go to aerostich.com to request a free catalog.
