Thanks Dave;
I am running 42 in the rear and 40 in the front. The front is
wearing
pretty well except the sides are about gone. The rear has maybe a 1000
miles
left on it if I run it down to bald which I don't do and it is worn from
one
side to the other. I know that riding at high speed two up and loaded
eats
up the tire more but I expected a little better out of the 020 and have
gotten 5000 or better with the BT57.
Man, 2 up and loaded is even more reason to increase your tire
pressures. 42 & 40 would be good for solo and no luggage. Add another
~150 lbs and you need to increase the tire pressure just like the spring
preload. This is one of the benefits of Kisan's tire alert - monitoring
pressure rise, which should be no more than 10% so you can adjust for
different conditions and loads. Alternatively, I bet if you took a
pressure reading right after pulling off the freeway you would be around
50 psi (which is 20%) and your tire would be hot to the touch. No wonder
you only getting that kind of life.

Do you feel that the 880 has plenty of grip for back road travel at
speed?

Bob - SF bay area to Mexico to Alaska and back in 2 wks answer your
question?
