I really don't think it is a coil problem. If it was a coil, since there are
two ( aren't there?), I don't think it would totally shut down the engine
and then come back to life, like it simply ran out of gas.  Both coils would
need to fail at the same time.  It would probably more a loss of power, as
you lost a coil and shut down half the cylinders.
