To Derek Baylor and the rest contemplating Renegade exhaust purchase.

I have modified header pipes and collector from an YZF-1000 - larger
downtubes (1.375" vs. stock 1.125") along with jettisoned cat, but with
Ox sensor in place still.
I also run a BSM carbon fiber canister. I've had this set up for over a
year & half and put over 35,000 miles on it without any problems. The
ECU seems to have adjusted for it, although I didn't get any higher top
speed as I had hoped. The torque does seem a little flatter at low rpm's
2-3k rpm, but gets going great above 4k. The bike does seem to get
better mileage and power on tap at cruising speed (75-85) which is 4-5k
rpm (I'm running a 44 t sprocket) - getting about 43 mpg. I haven't been
able to get it on a dyno, so just seat of the pants comments.
It is louder and with any glass packed muffler it is getting louder with
age. When the BSM was new it was a quiet 89 db at 5k rpm, now with all
those miles and blowing it out, now up to 99 db.
So I wouldn't be concerned about bike running poorly or loosing too much
off the low end - it is hardly noticeable.
