Speaking of that sensor, you may want to check the connector under the left middle fairing. My speedo was giving erroneous results last year - it would jump around. The ABS light wouldn't always come on but there was an error code in memory. I "ohmed" out the sensor it was OK, but the connector was filthy. I cleaned it up and problem was solved.
