By far the best ABS system since it allows stops of approximately 90 ft.
from 60 mph according to the moto mags of the time. Try that on ANY ABS
equipped bike today. The best ABS equipped bikes today average 120 ft or
more. I'll bet any newer ABS equipped bike probably uses different metal
technologies which aren't as prone to rust when some water get in the
system. Also I bet the maintenance schedule calls for a routine brake
fluid flushing. Glad to see them putting on a larger front rotor as well
since the current FJR is just average in stopping distances. The GTS
beats them all (braking distance) even after 10 years of development.

It was, at the time, and I imagine still is one of the best performing
ABS
systems ever put on a motorcycle. As long as the new HU doesn't suffer
from
corrosion due to the presence of moisture in the fluid, there is nothing
to
be embarrassed about.
