I would suspect either dry shifter pivots, esp on a really clean and frequently washed MC or a couple of lazy shifts. The shift forks that usually fail are the ones that shift from first to second, and them getting bent is a result of the real problem which is rounded dogs on the gears and the gear kicking out when under load. That is what bends/wears shift forks. RSRBOB
