Well folks, I located the problem to my GTS's shut down and it was....drum rolls please....the EFI's 10 amp fuse. When I checked the bike on the shoulder of a two lane mountain road full of traffic, I didn't notice that the fuse was blown (in between trying to dodge the passing cars and semis) but in the quite of my garage it became apparent immediately. Now something obviously caused it to blow but that something doesn't seem to be the harness, which is in good shape with no sharp edges or warn insulation to be found as of yet. So, my trouble shooting method after visual inspection will be to get a pocket full of 10 amp fuses and ride around town to verify if this was just a one time occurrence or if there is something else wrong that causes the fuse to blow. And I hope it's not an intermittent problem because as we all know they are hell to uncover. BTW Yamaha impressed me once again, in the two fuse boxes under the seat there are spare fuses for each and every circuit. Thorough thinking from a good company. And now for my question to you experts, does one have to gas the throttle quite a bit when trying to start a GTS after months of seating idle? That was the case with me and I'm wondering if maybe fuel pump pressure loss had something to do with my woes. It doesn't seem likely but hey it wont hurt to throw everything on the table. The other thing I had to do is lube the ignition with graphite (yep the dreaded ignition "I will not turn" attitude) but beyond these two idiosyncrasies all else appears normal. That's all for now and thanks for all your inputs so far George ---------- End Forwarded Message ---------- -- Michael Weaver (706)542-6462 [EMAIL PROTECTED] Engineering Services EITS University of Georgia, Athens Ga. )O( Public PGP key: http://www.arches.uga.edu/~weaver/pgp.html
