That argument is known as 'camber thrust' and isn't, in my opinion, a large factor in turning force. The reason motorcycle tires are rounded is quite simple. If they are square, you fall over when you turn. :-)
The reason the bike leans is to counter the centrepedal acceleration caused by the turn. The tires displace toward the outside of the turn to hold the bike and prevent it from sliding sideways. If the bike didn't lean into the turn, it'd fall over to the outside.
