Hi Bill , glad to see you like plastech , it worked for me , i've rebuilt threaded lug fixings on my side panel ( where the black plastic trim screws on to the low part of the R/H panel ), filled loads of cracks , even reattached lugs that hold the dash to the black inner panels (the ones with metal clips). I've also repaired 4 inch long fairing cracks , where the mirrors mount .
The only problem i've had with plastech is , when i dropped a repaired panel on the floor 2 of the 8 or so repaired cracks came out , so i re repaired them and backed up with fibreglass . General info . Anywhere you think you need extra strength use fibreglass layers with the paste "as soon as you apply it" , then more paste , then more fibreglass as needed . Try to repair any cracks from inside the panel , make a "rough" "V" grove , nearly all the way through the panel ( but not right through ) , then backup with fibreglass ( note i also roughed up the area that the fibreglass was to cover . For threaded lugs i placed a plastic hollow dowel over the broken threaded lug , then filled with plastech , as soon as i placed the plastech in the hole i followed it with the screw . The dowel was a good fit , and was left in place . For extra support use a larger dowel and prep the area around the base with fibreglass , then slide the dowel down over the fibreglass and fill up . You may want to use something slippery on the thread ( i used a smear of grease ) so you can unscrew it again . atb Nick T SA#12 " a Plastech sales-man in the making " --- Outgoing mail is certified Virus Free.
