Dear All I've done some more research into a UK get together. As I said last month, I've had 9 positive replies from UK & Ireland owners for some kind of get together in 2003. So I have circulated a proposal to those interested along the following lines:
A weekend hosted by White Rose Motorcycles, based in North Yorkshire. They seeme to offer a lot at a reasonable price - 2 nights dinner, bed & breakfast for �85 (based on 2 sharing twin/double room). I have seen reviews of their service before - all very favourable. They use a small country hotel, have secure covered parking, and provide a 3 course evening meal. The only additional costs for us would then be lunches, beer & fuel. Take a look at their website http://www.motorcycletours.co.uk/ I have discussed a group booking with the proprietor, Dave Galloway, who is very happy to accommodate us. If we wish to book as an Independent Group he has availability Fri-Sun 9-11 May; or 20-22 June. If required, he can arrange a Saturday guided tour for us (additional cost of �10). Alternatively, we can join The Herriot Tour (spaces available), 13-15 June (�95 incl Sat Tour). The tour covers 135 miles of unfenced scenic roads, mixed with fast sweeping roads. Limited singles available; single supplement is �10 per night. At this stage, I'm looking for a good idea of commitment. Based on this, I can make a provisional booking with White Rose. For an Independent Tour I can reserve spaces without a deposit, to secure a date. If we choose the Herriot Tour, we would need to book in the normal way. Robin Gammon
