OK, for anyone in the US looking at the UK......I bought a great little book,
the Lonely Planet guide to British phrases. Essentially, it translates all
that UK stuff into proper English. And tells about events, like the Virgin
Festival.

So....what's a "tied house"? Or "stabilisers" (I hope no GTSer needs those!)

And, today is Santes Dwynwen's feast day, and she's the Welsh patron saint of
lovers.

So, until those Brits learn proper English, I recommend it!

P.S. Just to show how complicated this Brit stuff is, my Lonely Planet
phrasebook for Moroccan Arabic is only about half or two-thirds as long. A
much easier transition????
