I think there is one thing to think about here. A while ago I listened to a talk about the Linux kernel workflow[1]. At around 29:50 the speaker discusses the benefit of a mailing list workflow in helping people to learn the norms and culture of the project. While Codeberg does give you the ability to "watch" repositories[2], my impression is that this way of interacting with a repository is less common when using a forge. I don't think I have ever used this feature outside of repositories that I created myself. Moving to using Codeberg for issues and pull requests may mean that the most "natural" ways of people interacting with the project are more isolated. For contributors, this has advantages (e.g. less chance of being overwhelmed by emails), and disadvantages (e.g. less likely to feel a part of the "Guix" whole).
