Being author of a middle sized translation, in my experience problems arise when we intentionally introduce personal views or interests, unrelated to the matter at hand: there is a simple means of translating a text from English (Saxon?) to Spanish (Castillian?) in an inclusive and neutral style -and there are quite a few examples around, trust me-, but we prefer to give it a personally (political) flavoured tone reflecting one’s own bias. Translations are already a difficult and complicated business (why "usted" instead of "tu" ? why the opposite -both styles mixes in the text-, why not translating "software" to "programa" ? what does it mean "hackear" ?), not to mention variants in different countries sharing Spanish as main language. There is no need to add a personal bias on top of it. C.
