Please have a look at the probability that countries will achieve their Paris Agreement goals (2021).¹ And that was before the COVID-19 pandemic, the full-scale invasion of Ukraine, and the 2024 US presidential election. Populists, demagogues, and autocrats - not only those from the Global South and Central and Eastern/Southern Europe - and their oligarchs *love* the Paris Agreement and the whole climate alarmism. For them, it is a lovely tool for inducing a sense of guilt among people from the former colonial powers and the Global West. Talking about "global warming" brings plenty of Western money into their own pockets. None of them has ever taken the PA seriously. Ever! And the ¹ is the proof.
