I've been carefully not checking the playtest files, and giving the

campaign are redesigned it's close enough, I think.

I had been totally forgetting about the VE4e playtest. In any case,
you can't actually convert vehicles from Vehicles for 3e to Vehicles
for 4e, since there are significant differences in the design system.

Well, since I don't have any of the Vehicle design rules (except for the cut-down system in Gurps Mecha) and I'm not likely to buy either 3E or 4E vehicle books. All I'm interested is an approximate fudge with a little hand-waving if necessary.

I'm already planning on taking the Pirate Brig (VotW 431), ripping off the cannons, replacing them with 'lightning guns' and then sticking a Magitech Engine and mana-storage crystal in the hold ("engine room"). In essence turning a waterborn pirate ship into a flying fantasy-tech pirate ship.

In fact, that just gave me an idea on how to describe the Magitech Engine in game mechanics.... a fantasy-tech computer that can only run a few fundamental spells... like levitation and recover energy. hmmmm... :)
