Any powers that /only/ work with ambient air (Such as causing
whirlwinds from existing air) get: Environment:air -5%
It's not just air, it's kinetic energy in anything. He can sync with
it and absorb it. Since just standing around, the biggest source of
energy is likely ambient air, that's sort of in line with the slow
recharge rate. But he'd also be absorbing any available heat from
the ground, too, since that has a kinetic component, if only at the
subatomic level.
I understand. It's in the character concept that he only "ambiently"
recharges fatigue in air. Following the precedent in "Legs", perhaps the -5%
"recharge FP energy pool only in air" can be translated to a -5cp disad?
Did not intend it to be a sheath. His body absorbs kinetic energy at
the "quantum" level.
So he can wear combat armor on top without problems?
Yes, but then he would be exposed to less kinetic energy, and not
absorb power from damage flung at him.
Ok, then he does not get it.
energy does not get restored. I guess in a spacesuit, with a full
charge, he could, but since the energy cost I specified was intended
to include concurrent recharge from friction with the air (I
envisioned he would fly spread-eagled, for example, to maximize air
resistance, for longer flight rather than Superman-like), I
anticipated he would deplete his energy reserves quickly enough to
not make this practical. I suppose if someone flew along with him
and fired bullets at him...
So add the +50% space flight enhancement to flight.
Oh, that's what I get for responding as I read.
So Flight (Space as well +50%; Costs 1 FP/s, -5%; Super -10%; Kinetic -20%)
Perhaps only buy "enhanced move (air)(super, kinetic)" to reflect the lack
of mastery of space?
This was intended to supplement the 200 Energy Reserve he gets
automatically with the DR200 with Absorption advantage-- total 500
energy reserve.
It's 3 "cp" for every 1 FP.
Thus a DR200 converts to 66.6FP battery.
Hmm, the way I read DR with Absorption was that with DR10 one gets a
10FP battery, but it dissipates with time. Vector should therefore
get a 200FP battery for whom I'd buy an advantage: "FP battery does
not dissipate).
Re-reading B46, it looks like one needs the +80% limitation (one
trait).
I considered this, and instead considered a +90% enhancement due to
the fact that he could use the battery for strength and superflight--
two characteristics. But, hey, I'll take the +80% if we interpret
"trait" as kinetic...
ok, B46 says this, under Damage Resistance, Absorption:
Each point of DR stops one point of damage and turns it into one CP that you
can use to improve traits [...] temporarily.
You lose them (unused first) at the rate of 1/sec. (This can be extended
with the enhancement Extended Duration, see POWERS).
Exception: [...] Restoring 1 FP costs 3 points from the battery.
Thus, since you are only using "Absorption" to power a special FP pool, so
+80%.
I say this because your "enhanced" abilities are not increased by this pool
directly, instead, they are fueled by it.
Cool, I'm going to have to rewrite this one-- oh, and fill in
background and skills and personality traits. I was thinking that as
Vector progressed (not that he needs to), he would be able to more
efficiently control the inertia of individual body parts rather than
his whole thing. Right now, he can exert super strength or fly fast.
That's pretty much it. As he gets more skilled, he could throw a
superfast and superstrong punch by more finely controlling the
momentum of just his arm for example.
I am really interested in seeing how this turns out.
