I don't believe they are ever going to be released as PDF's per SJ.
I'd swear that I remember someone from SJG talking about doing the core
books as PDFs when they went to 4E. Or that it was something that was
being "seriously discussed". Of course since so many of the promises
made just prior to the release of 4E were just smoke and mirrors. it
doesn't really surprise me that this is yet another that turns out not
to be true.
