Onno offered a TL8 designed/built sailing ship facing Nelson - ergo in a set TL5 world. So those world rules apply to the ship - which was the point I was making. Yes, there are solutions to every problem, but it becomes more of an optimised munchkin of a vehicle if you have all of them on every vehicle. And it stretches my feel of the reality of the vehicle. But yes, I agree, if the pirates walk into a prepared ship they should be toast - I should have specified I meant _local forces_ when I said _local_, my bad.
