Hello Travis,
the unfortunate truth is that the Kessel Run is almost certainly
a blooper. All later justifications ("Han was blowing hot air!",
"It is a dare for hot pilots!") are just retcons, and I was
trying to poke fun at that.
Besides, week 834 was the smuggler, it even said so.
