The cargo bay would be open to vacuum, so it won't be used for small or fragile items, anyway. The crew can take the time to mount each individual box, container, or tank. Magnetic holders would require magnetic plates on the cargo, and they might disturb some instruments. How strong would they have to be to hold several tons of cargo at 0.1 G or so? Latches sound almost like hardpoints, which are a different game mechanic. OTOH, hardpoints imply automatic release, and a means to launch the payload from the mothership. This cargo bay doesn't work that way, so it is legit that I don't pay for the hardpoint. So, cargo boxes with standardized fastenings, to clamp onto the girders, and tie-down points for non-standard cargo.
