Yes, WIG made me think of the Caspian Sea Monster rather than little ones. A small vehicle with flarecraft wings and the look-and-feel of the Landspeeder from Star Wars. Call it a 2,000-lb. vehicle, 90 cf hull and two 5 cf flarecraft wings, stall speed according to VXii30 is 45 mph. Ground pressure for retractable, small wheels is high, 1/6th off-road speed. To reach a nominal road speed of 270 mph, it needs something like 1,000 lbs. of thrust. A 120-lb. super turbofan which burns 65 lbs. of jet fuel per hour. Sounds workable, but I haven't double-checked the numbers.
