This is a weekly posting with GURPS vehicles (and the like) to the GURPSnet mailing list. I grant the permission for all non-commercial redistribution of my work, but I would like to know if you put it on a website or the like. The files at omeyer.gmxhome.de are down until I fix the automatic PDF generation, which should be one of these days - see sourceforge.net/projects/gurpsml Onno Meyer, 2014-08-04
Hyperdrive Trainer Mk.VI v1.0 (TL13) Copyright 2014 by Onno Meyer Even with the best simulations, there comes a time for pilot trainees to get into a real starship. Experienced pilots need refresher training to maintain their proficiency. Last but not least, many old Hyperdrive Trainers end their career as station hacks on some starport. The Mk.VI has two seats in a tandem cockpit. The trainee sits forward, the instructor has a slightly raised workstation in the rear. Both have good visibility under the bubble canopy. The wings contain the sublight engines, the contragrav, and part of the power systems. The MHD fusion reactor and the hyperdrive are mounted in the stern of the hull. It takes 177 minutes to recharge the power cell at full thrust, or 102 minutes if coasting. Subassemblies: Body +3, three retractable Wheels +0, two Wings +0. Powertrain: Two 15,000-lb. mega reactionless thrusters; 60-ton hyperdrive; two 10,000-lb. contragrav generators; 3,600-kW super MHD fusion reactor; two 11,025,000-kWs rechargeable power cells. The vehicle uses the design rules from Vehicles [second edition, third printing, July 2010 errata] and VXii (including the armor volume rule) with the text format from Vehicles Lite. Next Week: A TL14 trainer. _______________________________________________ GurpsNet-L mailing list <[email protected]> http://mail.sjgames.com/mailman/listinfo/gurpsnet-l
