This is a weekly posting with GURPS vehicles (and the like) to the
GURPSnet mailing list. I grant the permission for all non-commercial
redistribution of my work, but I would like to know if you put it on
a website or the like. The files at omeyer.gmxhome.de are down until
I fix the automatic PDF generation, which should be one of these
days - see sourceforge.net/projects/gurpsml

Hyperdrive Trainer Mk.VII v1.0 (TL14)
  Copyright 2014 by Onno Meyer

  Even with the best simulations, there comes a time for pilot trainees
to get into a real starship. Experienced pilots need refresher training
to maintain their proficiency. Last but not least, many old Hyperdrive
Trainers end their career as station hacks on some starport.
  The Mark VII can make more than 7,000 c in hyperspace, 10 G in space,
and Mach 6 in an earthlike atmosphere. There are seats for one trainee
and one instructor, and a little luggage compartment for ferry flights.
The effective range for the Trainer is five or ten lightyears.
  It takes 100 minutes to recharge the power cell at full thrust, or 65
minutes if coasting.

Subassemblies: Body +3, three retractable Wheels +0, two Wings +0.
Powertrain: Two 30,000-lb. mega reactionless thrusters; 90-ton
  hyperdrive; two 20,000-lb. contragrav generators; 9,000-kW total
  conversion reactor; 32,400,000-kWs rechargeable power cell.
Occ: 2 RCS. Cargo: 10 cf.

Armor     F        RL       B        T        U
All:    4/100*   4/100*   4/100*   4/100*   4/100*
* Plus DR 1,500 force screen.

Equipment:
  Body: Two medium-range laser communicators; two medium-range neutrino
communicators; two very-long-range gravity ripple communicators; two
50-mile multimode radars; two 50-lightsecond FTL radars; two 50-mile
thermographs; 10-mile multiscanner; two x200 astronomical LLTVs;
10-lightsecond FTL scan detector; flight recorder; two sets of precision
navigation instruments; two transponders; two inertial navigation
systems; global positioning system; terrain-following radar; two C9
hardened minicomputers; two terminals; two neural induction fields;
compact fire suppression system; forcelock; FSR 10 force screen
generator (DR 1,500); two 3-man full life systems; two ejection seats;
two gravity webs. External: Radiation shielding.

sAccel: 10 G sMR: 10 FTL Speed: 6 parsec per day

Design Notes
  Body is 288 cf, with excellent streamlining. Wheels are 14.4 cf,
retract into Body. Wings are 6 cf each. Structure is medium, standard.
Variable-sweep wings. Armor is standard metal. Sealed. Computerized
controls with duplicate maneuver controls. 14.02 cf of empty space.
Empty weight is 5,400 lbs.
  The vehicle uses the design rules from Vehicles [second edition, third
printing, July 2010 errata] and VXii (including the armor volume rule)
with the text format from Vehicles Lite.

Next Week: 15 G at TL15.
