This is a weekly posting with GURPS vehicles (and the like) to the
GURPSnet mailing list. I grant the permission for all non-commercial
redistribution of my work, but I would like to know if you put it on
a website or the like. The files at omeyer.gmxhome.de are down until
I fix the automatic PDF generation, which should be one of these
days - see sourceforge.net/projects/gurpsml

Coastal Monitor v1.0 (TL5)
Copyright 2015 by Onno Meyer
Ironclad production reached a fever pitch after the battle of Hampton
Roads. The Civil War ended before the first Monitor with 20" guns could
be commissioned. Who knows where it might have ended if the Civil War
had lasted much longer?
This Coastal Monitor has twin engines and a higher freeboard than the
early models for improved seaworthiness. She mounts two 20" smoothbores
in a revolving turret. The small pilothouse on top of the turret holds
the helm. The crew lives down in the hull, where it is either too cold
or too hot, and always damp ...
The steam engines burn 4.8 tons of coal per hour. A full load of coal,
ammunition, and provisions is $174,240.
