Hello,

Just had a somewhat harrowing experience with the Booksense, and am
trying to understand what happened and why.

I am using a Booksense standard with beta 1.1 firmware, and the 2 GB
card that shipped with the unit. Last night, all was well. I was
listening to an NLS book with the unit plugged into AC power. Before
going to sleep, I pressed pause, and then powered off the Booksense.

This morning, upon turning it on, I was greeted with the "SD card not
detected" message. Upon inserting the card into my computer, I found
that the card had been corrupted. According to Windows, it was an
unformatted device. I did a full, unconditional format in Windows, and
then let the Booksense reformat the card and recreate its folder
structure.
For the moment, the card is working again and all is well. Luckily, I
didn't lose any data of value, just some NLS and Bookshare titles which
can be downloaded again easily enough.
Has anyone seen this issue before? At this point, I'm uncertain how to
determine whether I'm dealing with a flaky card, a glitch in the
firmware, or what?

Thanks for any thoughts,

Al
