Hi, you said, "* I still miss the lack of an "undo" capability; if I'm listening to a very long audio book, and I hit the wrong key (such as going back to the beginning of the book), then there's no way to undo that and go back to where I was."
Hold down the left arrow key and go back to the previous location. In fact, you can do this 3 times because the BookSense remembers 3 previous places. We need to be careful about mentioning things the BookSense doesn't do when, in fact, it does them. It only causes people to believe that the feature is missing. I haven't tried to pair enough times to have a sense of how often lockups may happen now with 2.0. they did not happen the 4 pairings I've done so far. 3 of those 4 pairings were because the BS seemed to have "lost" the ability to connect to my headset; no amount of power cycling either one would get them to connect, and I had to go through the process of removing and repairing with my headset. fairly often, the BS will not be able to "see" my bluetooth headset, and I have to power cycle it off/on before it will link with it. fairly often, it will engage, send over perhaps 2 seconds worth of audio, then immediately go back to output via the built-in speaker. power cycling sometimes will resolve this, sometimes not, but no amount of just retrying without power cycling will allow me to make a bluetooth connection when this starts to happen. it just repeatedly links, gives me a very short burst of audio, and then drops the link. the "drop outs" are much improved; I can wear the BS on my belt now and reliably listen to a book. sleep timer functionality is still a problem, playing a loud sound via the speaker as the bluetooth connection is broken, as part of the timer shutdown. this same loud sound via the speaker happens if I choose to turn off the bluetooth headset before the timer has reached it's time. the BS still doesn't respond to headset controls (yes, I know you didn't say anything about it doing so in 2.0, that doesn't make it any less of a disappointment). The radio still can't be listened to via bluetooth; I believe this could be arranged by allowing a set of ear-buds to be plugged in to act as an antenna, but having the audio still go to the bluetooth headset; it would be better than no radio at all. * I haven't used the NLS functionality yet, so your mention of it must be in relation to someone else's problems. * commercial audio books (mp3s) are much better; my place is no longer lost, and that was my biggest problem by far. * I had thought when I purchased the BS that I'd be able to download WMA books with DRM and listen to them; I still can't, and mentioning it wasn't promised for 2.0 doesn't make that any better. * I haven't noticed any change in audio quality; especially with music, it's only acceptible in my opinion, not really good (earphone listening). * speaker volume is fine (I was not bothered by the speaker volume as apparently some were), but I don't hear any advantages from the stereo speakers, and somehow because they were mentioned as a selling point, I thought I would be able to. * I still miss the lack of an "undo" capability; if I'm listening to a very long audio book, and I hit the wrong key (such as going back to the beginning of the book), then there's no way to undo that and go back to where I was. * my settings for the left/right arrow keys, the ones which control whether you're moving by time or tracks, and how much time, aren't always being preserved; so sometimes I end up moving to unexpected locations in the book. * I find the movement in general through an audio book to be very awkward, as compared to the Stream's ability to easily let you move a couple of seconds to effortlessly move one minute or five minutes, etc. ok, that's about everything I can think of that I may have mentioned. hth, Chip -----Original Message----- From: Raul A. There are several messages you wrote late last year on how disappointing your BookSense purchase was because of various problems such as Bluetooth and audio book handling. Yet so far since version 2.0 has been released, we have heard nothing from you on this list. So does this mean that you find the issues resolved and don't have any problems to report or have you given up? You had indicated that I made you feel like you couldn't state your opinion about the BookSense, which I still maintain is far from the truth. And the fact that you wrote below shows that you are ok with your opinions. In short, that is great and I'm glad to see you writing on the list again. So if you don't mind, go ahead and let us know if any of your issues were resolved with the release of version 2.0 of the BookSense software. I'm curious about the Bluetooth and other annoyances you were experiencing other than the ones which have been stated already such as the pronunciations, the NLS volume, and the lack of WMA DRM support which we clearly stated was not a part of version 2.0. many thanks.
