Hi Doug,

I still don't have any engines under ECI eloquence 6.1. I used the 6.1 cd to remove Eloquence V5. Af ter restarting the system, I was using the TrippleTalk and was able to get the ECI version up and running. I changed back to the TrippleTalk and reinstalled Eloquence V5. I check to see if the V6 version of Eloquence still had all it's engines. They were all there. I then selected The SAPI synthesizer and the V5 engines were present. I did not select or start the v5 engine but instead I pressed esc and hit inter which took me back to the TrippleTalk. I then went back to the synthesizer dialogue and none of the ECI v6 engines were there.

David,

As mentioned, the new 6.1 Eloquence only has issues with version 5 Eloquence. So if you go to your add/remove you can safely remove anything that reference Eloquence 5. If you don't see a 5 in the name then you don't need to touch it. Since JAWS doesn't use 5 this won't effect them.

Regards,
Doug

Hi,

I hope you don't get a load of this same question, but since I need both WE and Jaws on my systems at work I am wondering if there is an easy way to identify which Eloquence to uninstall or if I need to leave them all there?

Please be sure to read through the readme, as the interaction between the version of Eloquence is detailed. Installing the beta will not change your synthesizer. If you have the SAPI version of Eloquence installed, and you want to try the new Eloquence, you should switch to the DEC32 for Window-Eyes first, and then switch to Eloquence. If you're not using Eloquence with any other software, then we recommend removing it to avoid any unwanted complications.

Right thanks.

So right now I am using the elequence with the sappy at present. So can
I download, install the new upgrade and would it change the synthosizer
by default? If so then by looking at the knowledge base I would need to
change back to dectalk32 first. Or is it safe or I should say will it be
safe to install it first.

will the downloadable upgrade include the new spech synthosizer as well?

Yes. The new ECI Eloquence synthesizer is built into Window-Eyes just like the DECtalk Access 32 (Window-Eyes) synthesizer.
