I tried that and more times than not it would tell me that WindowEyes was  
already running. Very rarely it would reload and be okay, but not most of the  
time.

I  have the same problem of speech loss, but after setting a sound to  play 
when a
program closes I
discovered that Window Eyes was unloading  itself on its own.
It would do it anywhere without warning so it wasn't  really a loss of speech.
Others who are having this problem should try  loading Window Eyes again 
after the
speech loss and
see if speech  returns.
