Memmory and some situations can have impact on running applications and
therefore your computing experience may vary. However, using the micro soft
xp operating software in general all you really need is a minimal amount of
memmory of 512 megs and vista users need a minimal amount of memmory of 2
gigs. Also with vista, the more memmory is better. And additionally, you
can always increase the size of your virtual memmory and see if that will
improve the performance on your computer. However, if this happens to not
work for you, you'll lose nothing. Since this is not a directly related
issue, to window-eyes, also a wealth of information about vertual memmory
can be found on the micro soft knowledge base web site. I know the above to
be factual because I have more than 10 computers with all different types
of micro soft operating systems available to me at all times. Further more,
I have very good images that work in a very particular way. In the event if
something starts acting a little different with window-eyes or any other
software application it's very easy and quick to go back to one of these
known states in which how I know everything was working properly. The
importance of doing this is that it lets me know right away and immediately
if it is a software or hardware problem. So at this time I've been
considering and have decided to give a bit of additional contact
information for anyone that might like to contact me privately. Here's the
additional contact information:
My email address is:
[EMAIL PROTECTED]
If you write me privately and are interested and ask for my private phone
number, I'll be glad to share it with you. I also will consider a live chat
get together very soon. Seeing as I do not have permission and I'm trying to
find out who I need to contact, I will go forward with a live chat get
together on this up coming saturday august 23rd, 2008 at 4 p.m. central
time, and 5 p.m. eastern time. I will hold the live chat at ACB radio/radio
room. Everybody is welcome, please feel welcome to join us. We'll be
primarily focusing on gw-micro's window-eyes screen reading software. So
just come learn and share.

Wayne

Thank you Robert. I didn't think memory was the problem as I don't do a
myriad of things at once. In fact, I rarely do more than two things at once.
I
just don't have a need for that and I understood that memory was only a
concern
if you wanted to multitask. And since GW Micro didn't stress the need for
having a gig of memory or more, I didn't think it was a concern. And since
you're having similar problems to mine, if I get more memory soon, I won't
expect
that to solve these problems and I'll continue to report in hopes that I
can
narrow down the cause.

Gail

I am sorry; but I have 2 gig of RAM and I experience muttering, babbling
and
occasional
loss of speech with the new Eloquence when I run Goldwave and Outlook
Express.
Regards,
Robert

I Gail,
Sounds like you need a RAM update to me. Half a gig is going to give you
problems
with XP I reckon. 1GB would be the minimum I would recommend.
All the best
Steve

I've turned off scripting and for the most part the beta works better, but
I
still
get loss of speech for no reason I can ascertain and it still happens
sporadically,
several occurrences right in a row and then it runs fine for a day. I can
give no
definite reason but it has always happened with Eloquence and it usually
happens
when I go to a website, not the same one. When I used Dectalk Access 32 for
WindowEyes
for testing purposes, it didn't happen, but I have to slow that down to
understand
it and even then it's more difficult for me to understand so I'd rather not
go back
to that. I'm using Windows XP with half a gig of RAM.
