Yes. I was in I.E. 6. I've had some problems with e-mail, but I can usually
work my way out of those. My crashes in I.E. 6 usually happen when I'm
changing from one page to another on a complex website. I'll watch it closer
and see
if I can figure out anything else.

Hi, Darrell.
It’s confusing, to say the least. <shrug>. Guess I’ll beef up my RAM
anyway since
it’s so cheap. I still have an idea or two to test on my own.
One interesting point. Window-Eyes crashed on Gail while she was in IE. If
I am
not mistaken, each of the blowups on my system occurred immediately after I
opened
an html message in Outlook 2003. To me, this suggests a problem with the
transition
into Browse mode.
Hey. What do I know!

Hello Lou,
I have 2 GB of RAM on a Core2Duo machine and I still experience a loss of
speech
whenever windows stop responding under certain conditions. I understand this
issue
will be a tough nut to crack, I remain patient, but I hope it can be fixed
sometime
in the near future. :-)

Hi, all.
Gail, the WE manual has changed since version six one. In the pertinent
section,
there is a revision to wit: GW Micro recommends at least a gig of RAM.
Everyone
who has been experiencing random losses of speech needs to know this. I,
like you,
have been running 512 mb of RAM. I, like you, have been experiencing
crashes that
a very few can duplicate.
Unless I missed it during a text search, the read me does not state a
recommended
minimum ram requirement. I confess, I tuned out during a read to end of the
read
me, as it gets too geeky for my liking.
Until I get another 512 mb of RAM, all bets are off.

It hasn't given me problems until this beta and they're saying that this
beta doesn't
take that much RAM, so why now?
Gail
I Gail,
Sounds like you need a RAM update to me. Half a gig is going to give you
problems
with XP I reckon. 1GB would be the minimum I would recommend.
All the best
Steve

I've turned off scripting and for the most part the beta works better, but I
still
get loss of speech for no reason I can ascertain and it still happens
sporadically,
several occurrences right in a row and then it runs fine for a day. I can
give no
definite reason but it has always happened with Eloquence and it usually
happens
when I go to a website, not the same one. When I used Dectalk Access 32 for
WindowEyes
for testing purposes, it didn't happen, but I have to slow that down to
understand
it and even then it's more difficult for me to understand so I'd rather not
go back
to that. I'm using Windows XP with half a gig of RAM.
