Hi, unless there is some way for window-eyes to get information from a document object model advance office support is not possible. Ok yes you might be able to move around in your document by sentence pairagraph etc as long as the program supports this functionality but you will depend on what is sent to the video driver to read text. So the off screen model will have to understand what the program is sending to the video driver. This is ok if you are just working with a simple document. It becomes more of a problem when dealing with forms cells tables end notes etc. how does window-eyes no this text is a end note and this other text is a footer? You can start looking for color changes etc to figure what is what. This gets dirty real fast. Now getting things from the object model is clean and nice. Now how does window-eyes no if text is a footer end note etc? well it looks at the document object model and that tells it. How-ever talking to the document object model needs lots of code. And you will be reading a lot of documentation to understand the object model in question. The program will have to use com to. If it doesn't you can't get at the information in the first place. This is one of the big problems with open office. Ok then there is time. Friends most of us use Microsoft office the object model is clearly documented it uses com and it is what is being used most in the work place. These other packages would need a lot of time to go over them and quite frankly it would not be worth the effert. This might change according to what I have read open office at some point is going to expoze the whole object model to Iaccessibility. If that happens and they have been claiming they are going to do this for quite a while now so please don't hold your breath for to long then screen readers that use this standard will be able to get at all the nice document features. How-ever we are dealing with the here and now and quite frankly Microsoft office provides the best office program for the user, and provides the best access to. So might as well stick with it. If it ain broke don't fix it.

Guess, that is the same with quite a few of us... :) It specially seems to be the problem in the spreadsheet. This just like in Corel Office, and EasyOffice.
