Hello John. It's not a matter of priorities, but a matter of time. Also, most sighted users who take time to post blogs about having to view messages with Word in Outlook will also be complaining. So it's not just a blind user annoyance. I believe I remember seeing somewhere on the net a macro that someone wrote which will solve your problems. The thing about this, it's a macro which works whether you are blind or not, and whether you use WE or not.

Google is your friend in this case as I don't have any further specifics on this.

many thanks.

Dear list, particularly any scripters out there.

With the recent discussion on generic or specific scripts I thought I would
bring this to your attention.

I am a user of Outlook 2007 but do not feel that I am technically up to the
task of writing my own scripts.

There are two issues in Outlook 2007 that I feel a script or two would be of
help.

Outlook 2007 moved to using a MS Word interface exclusively. With earlier
versions of Outlook once the e-mail had been selected and the <enter> button
was pressed then the e-mail would talk automatically. Now, I have to press a
key. Yes, not too onerous, but it would be nice to have it automatically
read. I did try the "read mail" script but this did not work for Outlook
2007.

The other issue is that at times, quite frequently with mail shots etc,
there is a fully formatted html e-mail, with tables, etc. Window-eyes in
Outlook 2007 just cannot handle this at all. It is necessary to use <alt>xv
to view the e-mail in your browser. This is really quite an ugly way of
doing things. In a lot of cases the author has recognised that there may be
an issue and presents a link in the e-mail to view the e-mail with your
browser, but the rendering of the e-mail in Outlook 2007 is so bad that the
Window-Eyes user cannot identify that link in a reliable manner.

GW Micro staff have not yet produced such a script, I guess it does not come
high enough up in their list of priorities.

Is there a script expert out there with Outlook 2007 who would take this
task on?

I am certain I am not the only one on this list who would be grateful.

Regards, John
