greetings To The List,
My sentiments regarding this topic completely echo those of the original sender.
I like to be excluded from those who live to complain, but I have
N-E-V-E-R had any good luck with downloading an upgrade of a GW-Micro product
from their servers.  I've received the same error message that others have
described with respect to this thread, even after doing a number of downloads
of the upgrade program and trying many times to run the program on this PC.
Also, the file that I attempted to  download multiple times has a length of 165
or 166kb.
My horrible fortune with downloading and running GWMicro upgrade products leads
me to offer a few suggestions that might possibly improve this miserable
situation:

First, might it not at all be possible to have a given program placed on
several mirror sites, so that if one site is down or busy, then one or more of
the other mirror sites might help in handling the monstrously heavy traffic?
Obviously, GWMicro's server or servers do not appear to be at all capable of
handling the extremely heavy traffic that seems to be occurring;
Alternatively, might it not be possible for GWMicro to compile a number of
upgrade files and make them available on a subsequent, freely available CD?;
The third, and possibly least preferable alternative, might be to simply wait
until the majority of fixes have been implemented using the findings of a
statistically reasonable number of testers together with GWMicro's bug
reporting system, and then bringing the finished product to market.
It has been pointed out previously on this list that it will never be possible
to iron out all the permutations and combinations of glitches that might be
associated with a given application.  This is certainly true!!  But doesn't
there exist a possible method by which the woes of multiple unsuccessful
downloads/installations, experienced by faithful GWMicro clientele, might be
significantly reduced?
lease understand that this is not criticism for criticism's sake but rather
a suggestion for replacing or complementing the current system that appears to
be in need of serious improvement.

Regards
