I have never had much trouble downloading from gwmicro. When
the download looks bad, I generally wait for the server to clear out before
retrying. I have almost always had trouble with yousendit so if GW chooses
that option, I hope they maintain the original download option at
gwmicro.com for those of us who, with a little patience, manage to get the
downloads with minimal problems. RD

gw micro could start using yousendit.com
Then they could email us all a link ... we could download it from servers
that area ready to handle the load and since the upgrade file requires
that you have we already installed and thee correct versions as well ...
no worry about wrongful use.
Just a thought.

greetings To The List,
My sentiments regarding this topic completely echo those of the original
sender.
I like to be excluded from those who live to complain, but I have
N-E-V-E-R had any good luck with downloading an upgrade of a GW-Micro
product from their servers. I've received the same error message that
others have described with respect to this thread, even after doing a
number of downloads of the upgrade program and trying many times to run
the program on this PC. Also, the file that I attempted to download
multiple times has a length of 165 or 166kb.
My horrible fortune with downloading and running GWMicro upgrade products
leads me to offer a few suggestions that might possibly improve this
miserable situation:
First, might it not at all be possible to have a given program placed on
several mirror sites, so that if one site is down or busy, then one or
more of the other mirror sites might help in handling the monstrously
heavy traffic? Obviously, GWMicro's server or servers do not appear to be
at all capable of handling the extremely heavy traffic that seems to be
occurring;
Alternatively, might it not be possible for GWMicro to compile a number of
upgrade files and make them available on a subsequent, freely available
CD?;
The third, and possibly least preferable alternative, might be to simply
wait until the majority of fixes have been implemented using the findings
of a statistically reasonable number of testers together with GWMicro's
bug reporting system, and then bringing the finished product to market.
It has been pointed out previously on this list that it will never be
possible to iron out all the permutations and combinations of glitches
that might be associated with a given application. This is certainly
true!! But doesn't there exist a possible method by which the woes of
multiple unsuccessful downloads/installations, experienced by faithful
GWMicro clientele, might be significantly reduced?
lease understand that this is not criticism for criticism's sake but
rather
a suggestion for replacing or complementing the current system that
appears to be in need of serious improvement.
Regards

I notice a few saying they don't have any problems with
the install and many like me who can't even run the
program because I get an error saying missing header
information.
Why can some download and install the program and
others can't?
