There's no such thing as "down the toilet".

It will be replaced by a later version of vista, marketed under the name
windows 7, but it will continue to be supported like all versions of
windows, for the specified life cycle.  If you wait for the next release
of anything you'll always be waiting for forever.

Just look at all the people who are still using xp just fine, even
though vista has been out for a while.
