Hi David and Everyone,
Well, if I understood what I read correctly, the Windows Secrets
people said that we do not have to install the Windows System
Advanage software.
I'll find the information that was posted in a recent Windows Secrets
issue, and I'll send it to anyone who wants it. I won't post it on
this list, unless someone from GW Micro Staff thinks I should.
Thanks a bunch.

Think you have to install the Windows Genuine, thing, so as to be
able to update your windows from Microcoft. As far as I know, the
software simply make sure that your wincows copy is legal. Without
it, I am not sure, if your windows will get the newest, critical,
updates from Microsoft. At least, on one of my systems, refusing to
install things like that, prevented me from doing any further windows updates.

Hi Jeff, and Everyone,
Okay, I'll do that.
I copied the error reporting window with all the error information
to the clip board and dropped it in a message to this list, and to
support, tried to send a copy of the error report to this list and
the [email protected], and I couldn't even send the message. It
just froze Eudora, and I couldn't do anything until I did an alt-F4
to get out of Eudora. Then, I went back into it, and my message was not there.
Also, that silly Windows Genuine Advantage keeps coming up, also.
I'm not installing it. Please tell me what you all think about
that. My copy of Windows is legal. <smile>
Thanks much.

You need to turn off all of those automatic updating of scripts.
When you get them all turned off, your Window-eyes will run a lot
better.
Use Jamal's install packages script to do your updating.
I think this is what most of us have found to work the best.
Hope this helps,

Subject: Window-Eyes Freezing on startup
Dear GW Micro Staff, and Everyone,
Hi, Quite often, Window-Eyes freezes on startup. This has been happening
for a long time. This morning, I had to reboot my computer, as I had no
speech. I did the End-Task, and that didn't work, either.
Then I remembered, after rebooting, when this happened again, that I
could do a control-backslash, and alt-f4, and shut down Window-Eyes, and
reload it, again. I did this, and Window-Eyes was talking again, and I
got the error reporting thing for the second time this morning.
I closed the task manager window, and I sent the error report with no
comments.
Also, my scripts are trying to update older scripts, dated from May 6th.
This also has been happening since February.
What do you recommend that I try? <smile>
Thanks much.
Pat Ferguson always loving Window-Eyes
