Hi Everyone,
Thank you for your responses to assist me in installing IE 8.0. I am
not surprised that it did not install. I think it was just in a limbo
state, and no, I didn't have a bunch of windows open. <smile> Just
the Windows Updates windows, and IE8.
I ended up calling Microsoft, and spent over 2 hours on the phone with them.
We got a whole bunch of Windows Security updates installed, and IE8
installed, and also a whole bunch of Office updates that were not installed.
I have never turned off automatic updates, but something happened,
and my computer wasn't updating for a long time.
WGA still comes up, so I believe Microsoft will call me tomorrow, and
we'll finish this.
Thanks to everyone.

Have you done alt-tab to see what windows you do have open? Or
control-shift W to read your screen? Or tabbed through to see if
it gives you any links or anything like that?

Hi Pat and Everyone,
The window for the previously installed updates is still open. I
can't close it.
Thanks.
