I tried this, when I press keypad 5 to read current line I hear nothing.
If I press the keypad 2 for the next line, this will also speak the
current item.

I am noticing this also in the PMMail Search Messages dialog.  The
controls are being identified as Combo Boxes.  The Read Current Line key
seems also to read 
the correct item, though.
