Hi, you can, in Eudora, create the graphics for each "state" the
message is in, e.g. read, unread, forwarded, with attachment, etc.
You find the graphic(s) that have changed and label them accordingly.
Window-Eyes can give you the CRC state of the graphic so you can tell
when it changes. You wish the graphics next to the line containing
from, to, subject, etc. Put the mouse point on that graphic and label
it after changing the message you are pointing to to the status you
want, and then save the associated *.gra file.
On the list of message(s) in Eudora, hit the context key, and arrow
down to "change status," which has a sub menu, and in that sub menu
you will find "read, un read, forwarded, recovered, redirected,
replied." Hit "enter" on the one you wish to label and find the
graphic which has changed from before. If you chose "read," you'll
find the graphic which changed if the message is, indeed, not read
yet. It is safe to always changed it to "unread," first, avoiding this pitfall.
I hope this helps.

Richard,
there is an article on the GW site explaining how to fix this in
outlook. the only thing I can suggest is that you use the article to
familiarize yourself with the basic technique they're using, and then
try to label the graphics in Eudora in a similar fashion. This is much
easier with sighted help, but sometimes you can figure things out
yourself. sometimes it requires some "test" labels, and then through
trial and error, you can see if you've identified the graphics properly.
