I couldn't pass up replying to this post.
I currently have 3 Vista Ultimate-equipped Dells, 2 desktops and one
notebook. They are easily the best machines I have ever had. I am planning
to order another top-of-the-line desktop from them shortly. I have not had
a lick of trouble with any Dell computer I have ever had.
In addition to the computers themselves, I have all sorts of other Dell
stuff, including a network color laser printer, an 802.11N router, an
all-in-one printer/fax/scanner, to name but a few examples. Never a single
problem with any of it.
Now, if Dell could only read this post and send me a thousand dollar gift
card<smile>.

In my opinion you made several mistakes.
First, getting a Dell.
Second, getting conned into the extra warranty.
This is a cheap machine and will be disposable in two years or less but
you are paying for a four year warranty.
Integrated video and sound.
Not a good idea in my opinion, cheap video and sound cards are available
which will make your system more reliable and slightly faster.
Add them yourself if you like.
Only one hard drive?
And, paying for a quad core processor which adds next to nothing over a
core two duo except cost.
Also, why buy a monitor from Dell?
They are around cheap from buy.com etc.
