Hi,
I am using a laptop with WE 7.1 and IE 8 and Vista 32 bit. I checked and my IE
8 window was already maximized so I restored it to normal. then, I tried doing
the alt space followed by x and got the same result as you did. So, I tried it
again but this time I did alt space which opens a dropdown menu and tried to
arrow through it and got nothing. I think that WE is not moving focus to this
dropdown menu and so when you press x it does not maximize the window. Not
focusing in the menu prevents the maximize option from taking effect. So, here
is how to maximize the window successfully. Use the mouse keys, top left, then
line up to read the title line of the window which in my case says graphic
followed by the title of the window. If you don't have graphics set to graphic
only, you will not here the announcement of graphic. but, I think We will be
focused on the graphic that is the system icon, so you can left click it and
arrow down to the maximize option.

I just tried it again and it is still doing the same thing. I press Alt+space
and then I press x to maximize it. it does not maximize the screen and w/e
stops working until I alt tab out of that window. could having more than one
tab open cause this or having accelerators cause this.

Good morning. I run Vista Ultimate 32 bit with IE 8 and WE 7.11. I am not
seeing the problem you describe. I have IE 8 open right now and performed your
sequence and WE continued to speak normally.
