Hi. Pressing the F11 key will also maximize the Internet Explorer screen. I cannot reproduce the loss of speech however.

Good morning. I run Vista Ultimate 32 bit with IE 8 and WE 7.11. I am
not seeing the problem you describe. I have IE 8 open right now and
performed your sequence and WE continued to speak normally.

hi. I just received my new copy of w/e 7.11 and I am just having one
problem with it.when I open internet explore 8 and I press alt+space to
maximize the screen w/e will stop working or talking and I have to alt
tab out of that window. then I get speech back. it won't let me maximize
Iie 8. after this w/e starts to go very sluggish. anyone know why?
running windows vista 32 bit. thank you
